An Introduction to Chengdu Meishi International School

Chengdu Meishi International School (CMIS) is located in Chengdu, the large, modern city of Sichuan, southwest of China. Founded in 2002, CMIS is located on a beautiful 50 acre piece of property. The campus includes impressive western style classrooms, a science & technology center, a sports center, an art center, a student center, and student and teacher dormitories.
There are 2200 students including 230 foreign students enrolled in CMIS currently. Almost 30 foreign teachers are working here; some of them are foreign administrators.
 

 

English Teachers Number required: 1-2 Posts


Start date:     late February  2008 or September 2008


Requirements:    BA ,TESOL and some teaching experience preferred


Monthly Salary:   

4500-5300RMB per month (Chinese Division. If you agree to teach some classes in the Foreign Division, you will get 1000-2000RMB extra according to the teaching hours.)
 

Age of students:  6 to 17


Accommodation: Furnished Apartment including TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, microwave oven, washing machine.
 


Medical Insurance:  The teacher shall be provided with basic medical insurance

 

Other Perks:  Free Mandarin lessons

 

Paid Holiday

Paid holidays: National Day holiday, New Year holiday, winter vacation, Labor Day holiday (Foreign Division teachers & administrators have additional time off)

Two days off per week on Saturday and Sunday.

*National day in October (7 days), Christmas  in December (1 day) and New Year in Januar(2day) . Summer Holiday  (30 days), Winter Holiday (15-20 day) and  *Labor Day in May (7 days)

  

*The common practice in China for golden week holidays is such that the employee will have 7 consecutive days off.  (3 days paid holiday, 2 weekend days, 2 extra days to be compensated for by employee working on weekends either before or after the golden week).


Work permit : The school will provide work permit for China at no cost to the teacher.

 

Air-ticket Reimbursement:

Airfare allowance: Chinese Division: 8000-10000RMB (one year contract).
