Guangsha College of Applied Construction Technology was invested and founded by Guangsha Group with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. It is a full-time technical further education college that is entitled to issue junior college diplomas recognized by the State. Located in the new area at Jiangbei of Dongyang that has long enjoyed a good reputation of "Homeland of education", "Homeland of architecture" and "Homeland of craftsmanship", the garden-like campus with a total investment of over 300 million yuan covers an area of 800 mu, with a building area of 140 thousand square meters. Capable of accommodating more than 6000 students, the college has more than 20 laboratories and well-equipped training centers such as building materials, mechanics, digital circuit and  analog circuit, computer center, etc, with its teaching and living facilities ranking first in China.

English Teachers

Number required:  2 Posts (6 currently employed)
 Start date:     late February  2008 or September 2008
                           
Requirements:    BA and or TESOL and some teaching experience preferred
Monthly Salary:   Yuan 4,000 to Yuan 5,500 (after tax)
Teaching hours:  16 hours per week / two days off per week. 
Age of students:  16-20
School Population / Number of Teachers:  8,000 / 270
Accommodation:  Private accommodation with private bedroom, kitchen, washroom, balcony, color TV with cable, air-conditioner, telephone, heating, microwave, washing machine, shower, 24 hour hot water supply, free supply of  water, complete supply of bedding (including sheets, blankets, pillows and towels). 
Internet access (Free):  computer with internet access both in the quarters and school..
Number of students per class in the centre:  20-35
Insurance:  Teachers will be covered with an accident policy with medical benefit for non-accident cases only 3 months into the policy and limited to a maximum compensation of RMB50,000.  Therefore, teachers are advised to take adequate insurance cover before leaving their own country.

Paid Holiday and Annual Leave
1)  For five month contract - September  1,2006 to January  31, 2007 
       Labor Day 7 days
       Two days off per week on Saturday and Sunday.
2)  For one year contract -  September 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007
      National Day, Christmas, New Year Day, Labor Day
      Two days off per week on Saturday and Sunday.
     *The common practice in China for golden week holidays is such that the employee will have 7 consecutive
     days off.  (3 days paid holiday, 2 weekend days, 2 extra days to be compensated for by employee working
     on weekends either before or after the golden week).
Travel Allowance:   Yuan 1,100 for each semester
Air-ticket Reimbursement
On completion of the contract, an air-ticket reimbursement up to a maximum of RMB3,500 for 5-month contract and RMB8,000 for one-year contract.
