23rd, 2005 (15 days)
[13 days of teaching and 2 days of outing]
Expected
Dates of Arrival: Friday, 8th July
(before 4.00pm)
Location to report on arrival: At the lobby of the
guest-house of S.I.S.U. [Shanghai International Studies University (Shanghai
International Studies University)], 189 Tiyuhui Rod West, Shanghai. The
guest-house is on the campus of S.I.S.U.
Address of S.I.S.U: 550 Dalian Road West, Shanghai. The main gate is
100 meters from the guest-house.
Expected Dates of Departure: evening of 23rd July
Salary:
RMB7,300
Accommodation:
shared accommodation
(2 teachers per room) in a hotel near Kangqiao School
Teaching Schedule:
Six classes a day (each to last 50 minutes. 3
in the morning/3 in the afternoon plus 4 evenings of activities (90 minutes
duration).
Meals:
paid for by the camp organizer
Age of Students:
8 to 17 years
Class size: Within 35 students
Travel bonus:
two days for travel in Shanghai proper (one day
together with the students paid for by the camp organizer, and one day on
teacher's own account)
Payment of salary:
In the afternoon on 23rd July at the S.I.S.U. guest-house before departure
Transportation:
Teachers will be provided with transportation between S.I.S.U guest-house
to Kanqiao School in Pudong (about 35 minutes).

The school does not pay for
airfare
or traveling expenses to the camp location.
2.
What
level of English are the students at?
The
students are from
Primary 2 to Senior Middle 2 (age 8 to 17); most of them
know at least
1,200 English words.
3.
Am I given a curriculum?
Teaching material
will be
printed and distributed to students before the camp begins.
Teachers
are not required
to teach rules
of grammar
or explain the
meaning of words.
The
objective is to
help
students
use what they have learned through listening
to
and
speaking
of
English.
4.
Will I have a Chinese -speaking teaching
assistant to help me?
Yes, there
is an English Speaking assistant in each class (about 35
students) to help you.
