Dalian is a major prefecture-level, sub-provincial port city in Liaoning province, People's'  Republic of China, and is Liaoning's second largest city (after the provincial capital Shenyang) and the third-most populous city of Northeast China (after Shenyang and Harbin). Located on the southern tip of the Liaodong peninsula, it is the southernmost city in both Liaoning and the entire Northeast. Dalian borders the prefectural cities of Yingkou and Anshan to the north and Dandong to the northeast, and also shares maritime boundaries with Qinhuangdao and Huludao across the Liaodong Bay to the west and northwest, Yantai and Weihai on the Shandong peninsula across the Bohai Strait to the south, and North Korea across the Korea Bay to the east.

Introduction of Dalian Maritime University - Law School

     

Dalian Maritime University (DMU) Law School invites applications for English Language Instructor positions. The successful candidate will teach academic English to Law students. DMU is one of China’s key universities listed under the national “Project 211” and “Double First-Class” University Plan. DMU is located in the southwest of Dalian, China, a beautiful coastal city. The main languages of instruction at the university are Chinese and English.   

The Joint Double Degree Programme in LLB Law, co-established by Dalian Maritime University (DMU) and Swansea University (SU), represents a landmark initiative in Sino-British legal education cooperation. Approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the programme welcomed its first cohort in 2024 and has since continued to attract talented students aspiring to specialize in maritime law, international trade law, and foreign-related legal practice. 

Designed to integrate the strengths of two world-class law schools, the programme provides students with a comprehensive understanding of both the common law and civil law systems, preparing them for legal careers in international business, shipping, arbitration, and global governance.

Responsibilities: 

• Teaching academic listening, speaking, reading, and writing at various levels in preparation for the IELTS and academic English exam. 

• Contributing to the development of curricula, assessments, and teaching materials to ensure high standards of English language education.

• Actively participating in department meetings or program support activities as needed

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications: 

• A bachelor degree or above in TESOL, TEFL, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field

• Ideally minimum 3 years of experience teaching English at the college/university level

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: curriculum development, EAP, ESP for STEM, assessment, teacher training, academic writing and communication, English medium instruction, educational technology

• Experience teaching abroad is highly desirable

• For applicants with a doctorate degree, evidence of research publications in the field of English language education

Benefit package provided: 

• Salary:

  --> The basic salary RMB 9,000, RMB 300 per teaching hour, one teaching hour is 45 minutes. 10-14 teaching hours per week.

  --> Regarding winter and summer holiday, there is basic salary + basic teaching hours(will confirm later) their current teachers can make RMB10K teaching fees per month beside basic salary RMB 9000 and if you like to teach more, they offer more hours.

  --> Even one to one oral English tutoring is RMB 300 per teaching hour.
